If the site is UP but can’t access the page, try one of the following solutions:

Force a complete site update. This can be accomplished by pressing the CTRL + F5 keys at the same time in your favorite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies in your browser to ensure you have the latest version of the website. For instructions, choose your browser:

Troubleshoot DNS problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows you to identify a site IP address (192.168.x.x) with words (* .com) for easier recall, such as a phone book for websites. This service is generally provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure it takes the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows: (Start> Command Prompt> type “ipconfig / flushdns” and press enter). For more details, choose your operating system:

If you can access a website in the office or from a 3G network but it doesn’t work on your computer, it’s a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISP. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are excellent and free public DNS services.

Access your Spectrum mobile account

You can update your payment method, view your invoice, track your data usage, view your order history, and more on your online account.

To access your Spectrum Mobile account:

  • Log in to Spectrum.net.
  • Select the Mobile icon in Your services and equipment. You will be taken to the Spectrum Mobile site.
  • Select the Manage account and log in with the same credentials you used to log in to Spectrum.net.
  • From here, you can:
  • See your invoice.
  • Manage your payment method for automatic payment.
  • Update your contact information.
  • Track your data usage.
  • View your order history.4

Charter.net supports IMAP / SMTP

This means you don’t have to use the Charter.net webmail interface! You can check your email and send messages using other email programs (like Mailspring, Outlook Express, Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird). Using desktop email applications can improve your workflow. They usually offer more options, and your email is still available on your computer when you are offline.

To access your Charter.net email account from a desktop email program, you will need the IMAP and SMTP settings below:

Change your email password or reset a forgotten email password of Spectrum

Whether you’ve forgotten your password or just want to change it, you can do so online with the instructions below. The instructions will vary if you are the primary account holder or the subaccount user.

  • Resetting your own forgotten password

Note: If you are a subaccount user, you can also ask the primary account holder to reset your password.

To reset your own password:

  • Go to the Spectrum Webmail page.
  • Select Forgot your email password?
  • Select I don’t know my email password.
  • Enter your email address.
  • Select the I am not a robot check box, and then select Submit.
  • you have never used the password reset tool, you will be asked for the MAC address of your modem.
  • Select the How to Verify Your Provided Cable Modem ID link for more information.
  • Once you have entered your MAC address, select Submit.
  • Enter the answer to a security verification question.
  • Select Reset password. A new password is displayed.
  • If you intend to change it immediately, you can copy it. If not, write it down.

Note: You can select the Self Care section to go to Subscriber Self Care and change your password to one that is easier to remember. See the next set of steps.

Change your own password

To change your own password:

  • Go to Subscriber Self Care and enter your account email address and password.
  • Enter the text in the image and select Login.
  • Under the User Management heading, select Change password.
  • Enter your current password, followed by your new password. Then confirm the new password.
  • Select Change password.
  • Change the password of a subaccount user
    Only the primary account holder can change a password other than their own.

To change the password for a subaccount user:

  • Go to Subscriber Self Care and enter the email address and password for your main account.
  • Enter the text in the image and select Login.
  • Select Change password for the appropriate user.
  • Enter the new password and then confirm it.
  • Select Change password.
  • The subaccount user can use the password you created to log into Subscriber Self Care and change it.

Notes

The login to your Spectrum online account (to pay your bill and verify your services) is different than the login for your email. Find out how to retrieve the username or password for your Spectrum online account.
